Details
Ortho Bug B Gon ECO Insecticidal Soap Ready-To-Use is a Domestic-class insecticide registered in Canada by Scotts Canada Ltd. under PCP Reg. No. 28376 (first registered 2006-06-08; registration expires 2029-12-31). Guarantee: potassium salts of fatty acids 1%. The label lists 250 mL and 1 L sizes; this listing is the 1 L ready-to-use sprayer. The label notes it is "Made with Neudosan®, a registered trademark of W. Neudorff GmbH KG". Health Canada updated this label on 2026-05-01 under the Fatty Acid Cluster re-evaluation (RVD2025-07); the register states the previously approved label "is valid until 2027-11-14", so follow the label printed on your container. What the label covers: "For control of aphids, earwigs, mealybugs, spider mites, psyllids, pear and rose slugs (sawfly larvae), soft brown scale, and whitefly" and "For use indoors, outdoors and in greenhouses; fruit trees, vegetables, houseplants, ornamental and bedding plants, ornamental and shade trees." It is a contact spray for plants, not a household-pest or lawn product. The label allows use on edible crops: "May be used on edible crops up to and including day of harvest. Wash produce before using." How to apply, from the label: "Shake well before use. Thoroughly spray insect pests to wetting on all plant parts, including undersides of leaves. Repeat treatment weekly or bi-weekly if needed." "Do not use on sweet peas, nasturtiums, delicate ferns. Use with care on new seedlings, transplants and blooms. Avoid spraying during full sun." "If concerned about sensitivity of plants, apply to individual plants or small areas of plants and wait to determine if plant damage occurs prior to treatment of larger areas." Precautions, as printed: "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. DO NOT apply to any body of water. May irritate eyes and/or skin. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing." "Wear rubber gloves and protective eyewear during application. DO NOT apply when people or pets are present. DO NOT allow people or pets to enter treated areas until sprays have dried." Environmental precautions: "TOXIC to non-target terrestrial plants and aquatic organisms. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty." and "Avoid application when heavy rain is forecast." The label carries a full first-aid block (eyes, skin, swallowed, inhaled) and says to take the container, label or product name and registration number with you when seeking medical attention. Storage: "Store this product away from food or feed." Disposal: "DO NOT reuse the empty container. Recycle the empty container if available, or dispose in household garbage."
