Medi-Dart projectile dart only (MDARO)
Complete Medi-Dart projectile dart on its own, holding up to 30 cc, supplied without the bow or air pump.
Details
Working a bunch with one dart means every second animal is a second trip. Rinsing, recharging and reloading while cattle drift back into the trees is time nobody has, and a made-up spare dart in the case removes the problem entirely. This is the projectile dart complete, for the bow-and-arrow version of the Medi-Dart. It holds up to 30 cc and will not deliver a charge under 10 cc, that lower figure being a function of the valve rather than any kind of guidance about what to give. It is charged with air through the tail section using the standard Medi-Dart pump, the same pump that serves the crossbow and the pole syringe. No bow and no pump are included. If you are starting from nothing, the complete projectile kit with the 30 lb recurve bow is the item to look at instead. The dart takes the standard Medi-Dart needle range, #2 through #6 in intramuscular or subcutaneous pattern, with the current #6 requiring the half-moon push rod and a wingnut to eject correctly. Reusability is the whole economics of this system. Strip the dart down and wash it after use, keep the barrel and o-ring lightly oiled with castor oil, and confirm it holds pressure on the bench before it goes back in the truck. Spare o-rings cost almost nothing and are the part most worth carrying. What you administer, and whether the route suits the animal, is a matter for your veterinarian and the label.
