Medi-Dart crossbow hood (MDCBH)

Anything on a crossbow that can be knocked out of position will be, given a season in a farm truck. The hood covers the working parts of the Medi-Dart launcher, and a cracked or missing one leaves those parts exposed to everything a corral can throw at them, including dirt, straw and the side of a gate post. This is a replacement hood for the Medi-Dart crossbow, sold on its own. It is the sort of part that gets broken rather than worn out, usually in a single event, which makes it worth ordering as soon as the damage happens instead of running without it and finding out what else gets damaged as a result. Fitment is to the crossbow launcher. The projectile bow-and-arrow outfit and the extension pole syringe are separate systems and take none of these parts, so match your order to what you actually own using the diagram in the Medi-Dart manual. Reassemble it seated properly rather than forced, because anything sitting proud can interfere with the shot. As with any repair to a launcher, put a few darts into a target at your normal working distance afterwards and satisfy yourself that nothing has moved before you shoot at an animal. Treatment decisions remain a matter for your veterinarian and the label of the product you are administering.
