The dart rest gets less attention than it deserves. It is the surface the dart sits on while you are lining up and the surface it slides across on release, which means anything worn, grooved or out of line there shows up as a shot that goes somewhere other than where you were looking. If your groups have opened up and the string still checks out, the rest is worth a look before you start blaming yourself or the bow. Wear tends to be visible: a groove worn into the contact surface, a chipped edge, or a rest that has been knocked out of alignment. It is also the part that suffers most when a crossbow gets dropped with a dart loaded. This is a Medi-Dart crossbow part and it fits nothing else in the range. The extension pole syringe has no launcher at all and the projectile system uses a recurve bow, so neither has anything equivalent. Check your manual diagram before ordering. Because it sits directly in the path of the shot, replacing it is one of those repairs that must be followed by a session on a target. Confirm where the dart is landing at your usual working distance before going near cattle. It is a wearing part rather than a per-shot consumable. Treatment and dosing decisions stay with your veterinarian and the label of what you are giving.
