Fiebing's instant boot shine (neutral)
Uncoloured shine sponge that wipes onto smooth leather boots and shoes of any colour, with no brush or buffing needed.
Details
The neutral sponge carries no pigment, which makes it the one to own if your boots are not all the same colour. It shines without adding or shifting colour, so there is no shade to match and no risk of putting brown shine on a tan boot. The trade-off is honest. Without colour it will not fill in a scuff the way the black or the brown do, and a deep scrape stays visible. What it does is lift the overall look and put a finish back on leather that has gone dull from sun, wind and dust — which, on the prairies, is most leather by August. Wipe the boot down first so you are not grinding grit into the surface, then wipe the sponge over the smooth leather and leave it. Fiebing's says no applicator or buffing brush is needed, and that is accurate. Not for suede or nubuck. Keep the lid on tight, because an open sponge in a hot glovebox dries out and will be useless the day you actually want it. One behind the truck seat covers a lot of unexpected occasions.
