Fiebing's Aussie Leather Conditioner 400g
Beeswax-based paste conditioner in a tin, made for leather working in hard, dry climates and applied thin with a cloth.
Details
A soft beeswax paste rather than a pour-on oil. Fiebing's built it for Australian stockmen working leather in extreme heat and dry air, which makes it a sensible match for a prairie winter — the same problem from the other direction. Cold, low-humidity air pulls moisture out of a saddle sitting in an unheated shop just as effectively as a hot sun does. Clean the leather first with a soft brush or a damp cloth and let it dry. Test an out-of-the-way spot, because a wax conditioner changes how a finish sits and the result depends on the leather. Then apply a thin, even coat with a soft cloth in circular motions, working one section at a time and getting into the creases and around the seams where the leather flexes and dries hardest. Give it time to soak in, then buff off the excess with a dry cloth. Thin coats, repeated, beat one heavy smear. Wax left sitting on the surface instead of going in collects dust and turns your fingers greasy. Keep the tin closed and store it out of direct sun.
