Details
A cream of natural waxes used as a finishing coat over smooth leather. Leathercrafters reach for it after dyeing a piece, and it also gets used to bring some life back to older leather that has already been cleaned and conditioned. Fiebing's notes that it resists fingerprints and scuff marks. It goes on thin. Work a small amount into the surface with a soft cloth, let it set, then buff. Piling it on does not produce more shine, it produces a hazy film you then have to work back off. Two light passes beat one heavy one, and the second pass is usually where the depth shows up. It is for smooth leather. Fiebing's specifically does not recommend it on embossed leather, where wax settles into the pattern and dries light in the low spots. Test a hidden area first — how a wax finish sits depends on what is already on the leather, and a piece that has had oil or a silicone dressing on it will take a top coat differently than bare, freshly dyed hide. Keep the jar closed so the cream does not skin over on the shelf.
