Fiebing's Black Saddle soap 340g
Black-tinted saddle soap in a 340g tin for cleaning dark smooth leather; it transfers colour, so keep it off light hides.
Details
Same cleaning job as the standard yellow tin, but tinted black. The tint is the whole point and also the whole caution: this one transfers colour. Use it on black tack, black boots and dark harness where a little colour going back into scuffed spots is welcome. On natural or light russet leather it will stain, and there is no taking it back off. Dampen a cloth or sponge, rub it across the cake to raise a lather, and work the leather in small circles. Wipe the excess away with a clean damp cloth before it dries. Once the leather is fully dry, buff with a soft cloth or a brush. If the leather was stiff to begin with, follow up with an oil or a conditioner — soap cleans and lubricates the fibres a little, but it is no substitute for putting oil back into a dry saddle. Smooth leather only. Suede and roughout mat down and hold the tint in the nap. Keep the lid on so the cake does not dry out between uses.
