Fiebing's boot scrubber

A simple thing that saves an argument. The scrubber mounts outside a doorway with the hardware included, and boots get cleaned on the way in rather than on the kitchen floor. Bristles on the base handle the soles, and the side bristles let you work the welt and the sides of the boot without bending over and using your hands. Fiebing's suggests mounting it near doorways at home, at the stable or on a deck — anywhere the traffic comes off dirt. Mount it on something solid. A scrubber that shifts when you lean on it is worse than none at all, because you end up putting a hand on the door frame to steady yourself. Fasten it to a deck board, a concrete step or a length of lumber anchored flat, and set it where you can get a full boot on it standing up. Through spring breakup and again in the fall it will pack with mud and gravel. Knock it out with a stick or hose it down when it stops biting. It lives outdoors, so expect it to weather like anything else mounted on the north side of a building.
