Details
An oil-based hoof dressing that Fiebing's has been making since 1895. It is largely mineral oil with soybean oil, and it leaves a semi-gloss finish on the wall. This is the 3.785L jug, which is the size for a barn with a string of horses or a farrier who goes through it, rather than a one-horse acreage. Wash the hoof and let the mud and bedding come away before anything goes on. Apply with a brush, working it over the wall, the sole and the frog and up to the edge of the hair at the coronet. Fiebing's suggests two or three times a week rather than a heavy dose now and then. A jug this size wants decanting. Pour off what you need into a smaller container with its own brush instead of carrying four litres around the barn and dipping into it. Once shavings and dirt get into the main jug they stay there for the life of the jug. Store it somewhere it will not thicken past what a brush can handle. Not for human use, and keep it out of reach of children.
