It exists because this is not a one-dose product: if you are running it through a smoky August, a dusty winter in a closed barn, or across a string of horses in work, a litre disappears quickly and the larger jug is meaningfully cheaper per dose. Measured into feed at the label rate, the same way as the smaller size. Shake before pouring — settling is normal in a jug this size sitting on a shelf. Buy the 4 L only if you will use it within a reasonable window. Once a jug of any liquid supplement is opened it has a limited life, and half a jug that has sat through a winter on a cold shop floor is not something to feed a valuable horse. If you have one or two horses and only use it around occasional dusty spells, the 1 L is the honest choice. The same caveat applies as with the small size, and it matters more the more horses you are treating: a supplement supports a horse dealing with airborne dust and irritants, it does not treat disease. Soak or steam the hay, feed low, get air moving through the barn, and bed on something clean. Any horse coughing persistently or working harder than it should to breathe needs a veterinarian to look at it, because equine asthma and respiratory infection need actual treatment. Store closed, cool, out of direct sun, and do not let it freeze.
