Doktor Doom farm and livestock 0.6% pyr 4.0% pip commercial 454 g
Commercial farm and livestock insecticide, 454 g at 0.6% pyrethrin with 4% PBO — for barns, pens and animal areas.
Details
A commercial-strength farm and livestock insecticide at 0.6% pyrethrin with 4% piperonyl butoxide. Pyrethrin is the natural pyrethroid extracted from chrysanthemum, it breaks down quickly in light and air, and the PBO at this level substantially improves the kill by blocking the insects' ability to detoxify it. That short environmental life is exactly why pyrethrin products dominate around livestock — there is little residue and short withdrawal, where a persistent chemical would be a problem. The flip side is that it does not last. A pyrethrin knockdown treats the flies in the barn today and does nothing about tomorrow's, which is why it belongs in a program alongside sanitation and, where appropriate, a residual or a larvicide. Read the label before you use it and follow it. Registered species, registered sites, whether it may be applied to animals directly or only to surfaces, dilution, application intervals, and any milk or meat withholding statements are all specified there and they are legal requirements. Never apply a product to an animal unless the label says you may. Practical use around a barn: treat in the evening or early morning, get the ceiling and upper walls where flies rest rather than only the air, and keep it out of feed, water and milk. Cover feed troughs and waterers before spraying. Pyrethrins are highly toxic to fish and to bees, and cats are more sensitive than most species. Keep it away from water, ponds and aquariums. Wear the protective equipment the label lists, ventilate, and store the can away from heat and open flame.
