A total-release fumigator: you set it down, trigger it, leave, and the whole 400 g discharges into the space as a fog. Pyrethrin gives fast knockdown of flying and exposed insects, and piperonyl butoxide blocks the enzymes insects use to detoxify it, improving the kill. This is a commercial product for treating an enclosed space — a shop, an empty barn, a storage building, a greenhouse between crops. It is not something to set off casually. Read the label completely before you use it, and follow it. Room volume determines how many units you need, and the label tells you that, along with the required evacuation time, ventilation time before re-entry, and every site restriction. Getting the volume wrong in either direction is a problem: too little does nothing, too much is a hazard and a waste. The safety points are not optional. Everyone and every animal out of the building, including pets, birds and fish. All pilot lights, furnaces, water heaters and any ignition source shut off — a fogger discharging into a room with an open flame is a genuine explosion risk and it has happened. Food, feed and water covered or removed. Doors closed for the full period the label specifies, then the building ventilated thoroughly before anyone goes back in. Understand its limits too. A fog kills insects it reaches in the air and on exposed surfaces; it does not penetrate wall voids, mattresses, cracks or harbourages, which is why fogging is a poor tool against bed bugs and cockroaches and a reasonable one against a barn full of flies. Store it upright, away from heat, sparks and flame.
