A corner on a rope fence is the highest-loaded point on the whole system, and it is also where most designs let the conductor slide down the support until it is sitting on bare metal. Once that happens the corner is shorting to the post, and no amount of energiser will fix it. This fitting is moulded in polyamide, chosen because it holds its shape under sustained tensile load where softer plastics creep. The body is shaped specifically to stop conductor material migrating along the metal support, and the combination of that shape and the insulated post mounting is what keeps the discharge path open at the point most likely to close it. Extra-strong section throughout, ten to the bag, screwing directly into a wood post. It is meant for corners and strain points on rope fence, not for the run. Using a corner fitting at every post is money spent where a line insulator would do. Set it so the rope leaves in the direction of the next post rather than being forced around the fitting after it. On a tight corner, split the angle between two posts. Corner insulators are strong, but nothing survives being asked to turn a tensioned 8 mm rope through ninety degrees on its own.
