A claw-style nail-on insulator for polywire or steel wire, a hundred to the bag and supplied without nails.
Details
Fencing a big block of posts is arithmetic. Four wires on three hundred posts is twelve hundred fittings, and at that scale the difference between a fitting that goes on in five seconds and one that takes twenty is the difference between two days and four. This is the volume option: a claw insulator that nails onto a wood post and holds polywire or plain steel wire in the claw. A hundred to the bag. Nails are not included, which lets you match the nail to the post, a longer ring-shank into soft or weathered wood and something shorter where the post is sound. Nail-on fittings suit new construction and sound posts. On old, dry, split-prone posts a screw-in insulator will hold where a nail splits the grain and works loose the following spring. Drive the nail home but stop before the head is crushing the plastic body. An insulator nailed tight enough to distort has a stress crack in it already, and it will show up in the second or third winter.
