A corner post carries the sum of both legs of fence pulling at an angle to each other, and with wide tape it carries that load across a surface the wind is also working on. Line fittings do not survive it for long. This insulator is made for tapes 40 to 60 mm and is shaped so the tape can leave in a different direction than it arrives, which is exactly what a corner asks of it. It also handles tape up to 40 mm, so one fitting covers the common widths. It mounts by screwing or nailing to a wood post. Ten to the bag. Take the turn in stages where you can. Splitting a hard corner between two posts is easier on wide tape than forcing ninety degrees through a single fitting, and it keeps the tape from twisting as it comes around. Feed the tape in flat. Wide tape that arrives at a corner already twisted will hold the twist through the fitting, and the strain then runs through a narrow fold instead of the full width.
