Two problems live at the top of a T-post. The stud end is an edge at about the height a horse swings its head past, and the top wire is the one most likely to be flicked into contact with the steel. This head insulator seats over the post top and does both jobs, carrying the top conductor clear of the metal while covering the end. It is moulded from extra UV-resistant plastic, which is what decides how long a fitting in full sun stays flexible rather than going chalky and cracking off in its second season. It accepts conventional tape, rope and wire, and Corral makes corner solutions that extend from the same head fitting, so a run and a turn can be handled off one component instead of two designs on the same post line. Ten to the bag. Fit it before the post is fully driven if you can, or seat it with a block of wood rather than a hammer face. Plastic at minus twenty is a different material than plastic in July.
