Wide tape needs a wide seat. Force 40 or 50 mm tape into an insulator meant for wire and it folds along its length, which puts all the strain on the folded edge and eventually parts the conductors inside it. This one is shaped for tapes up to 50 mm and holds the full width flat against the post. The clip system seats on a standard T-post by hand, so a line of them goes up quickly and comes off again if you change the layout. Tape is a sail. Tension it enough to keep the flutter out but not so hard that the insulator becomes a cutting edge in wind, and give yourself a tensioner somewhere in the run so you can take up slack in summer heat without pulling the whole fence apart. Where the line turns, move to a corner or strain insulator. A line insulator holds tape against the post; it is not built to change its direction under load.
