Fibreglass posts hold up well in this country. They do not rot, they do not conduct, and they take being driven into hard ground. What wears out is the insulator clipped to them. Sun, cold and stock rubbing on the line all work at the fitting, and eventually it splits and drops the wire. Replacing the insulator is the fix. The post is fine and there is no reason to pull it. Twenty-five in a bag covers a stretch of line and leaves spares in the truck for the ones you find while checking fence. Walk the run with a bag of these in spring, after the ground has thawed and before stock go out. That is when broken fittings show up, the wire sagging between two posts or lying on the ground where a fitting let go in February. Fit the replacements at consistent height so the conductor runs level, and while you are there check that frost has not tipped the posts out of line. A crooked post puts constant side load on whatever is holding the wire.
