Details
Electric netting is a whole fence in a roll. The posts come built into the net, so you walk it out, tread the spikes in and the paddock is up in the time it takes to run a single strand of wire. This roll stands 106 cm, about 3 ft 6 in, and covers 50 m, roughly 164 ft. The double prong on each post is the part worth paying for. A single spike lets the post rotate when the net is under sideways load or when wind gets into it. Two prongs hold the post square. On the light, dry ground and gravelly soils common through central Alberta, that is often the difference between a net that stands and one that leans over by the second day. The knots are welded rather than tied, the top strand is reinforced, and the mesh is tighter through the lower section. Set it in a reasonably straight line, add support posts at every corner, and keep the bottom clear of grass. Vegetation resting on the net is what drags voltage down.
