Details
A netting run without a gate turns into a daily wrestling match. This door is built to be framed into an existing electric fence net. It measures 125 cm high by 86 cm wide, which converts to about 4 feet 1 inch tall by 2 feet 10 inches across, enough to walk through with a pail in each hand. The 125 cm height suits the taller nets in the range rather than the short garden heights, so check what you are running before you order. Width is the more useful number in practice. Eighty-six centimetres is a comfortable person-and-bucket opening, not a machinery gate, and that is what most netting applications actually need. Where it earns its money is any net that stays up for a stretch and gets visited daily: poultry runs, sheep paddocks near the yard, garden and orchard enclosures. The alternative, laying a section of net down and stepping over it twice a day, is what wrecks netting. Strands snap where the net gets trodden on, and once enough of them are gone the run stops carrying current end to end.
