Tuff Stuff teat for calf feeder (2 pack)
Replacement teats for the 8 quart bucket-style calf feeder, sold in twos so a chewed one can be swapped on the spot.
Details
A bucket feeder with a worn teat is worse than no feeder. The milk runs too fast, the calf gulps at it, and the mess ends up down the front of the bucket and on your boots. Teats are the part that wears out, and they are meant to be replaced rather than nursed along. These fit the 8 quart bucket calf feeder, the one measuring roughly 28 cm across and 20 cm deep (11 by 8 in) with a wire bail handle and a side-mounted teat. The teat has a flared base flange that seats into the threaded valve body on the side of the bucket, and it comes out and goes back in without tools. Note that the valve body itself is a separate part. If milk is leaking around the fitting rather than flowing wrong through the nipple, replacing the teat will not fix it. The adapter valve is what you want. Two to a pack means one goes on and one goes in the cupboard. Wash them in hot water with the rest of the feeding gear, dry them properly, and keep them out of the sun, which is what actually degrades them over a season.
