Handle length decides whether a job hurts. At roughly 168 cm overall (66 inches) this is long enough to work standing straight rather than bent over a short tool, and that is the difference over an hour of raking, not over five minutes. The head runs about 43 cm across (17 inches), moulded plastic on an aluminum shaft. That combination does plenty of work outside a barn as well: levelling an arena, pulling leaves off gravel, tidying a paddock, spreading mulch. Jobs where a steel garden rake either digs in where you did not want it to or corrodes over a wet spring. Lime green is deliberately loud, which is exactly what you want in a tool that gets left lying in a paddock. Rinse the head if it has been in anything wet and store it hanging. Aluminum is fine outdoors, but the tines will take a set if the rake is left standing on them for months.
