Half the point of a tool caddy is that you stop making trips. Load it once with the brushes, hoof pick, scissors, tape and whatever else the job needs, carry the whole lot out in one hand, and then sit on it while you work. Nothing gets left behind in the tack room because the container and the seat are the same object. It runs about 36 by 46 cm and stands 30 cm tall (14 by 18 by 12 inches), which is a comfortable working height for feet, legs and anything else low down, and a safe height to stand on when you need another foot of reach at a shelf. Moulded plastic means it does not rust, does not soak up water and can be turned upside down and hosed out when something leaks inside it. It also does not chill through the way a metal stool does in a cold barn. Pink has a practical advantage that has nothing to do with taste. A stool in an unusual colour is recognisably somebody in particular and tends not to wander off to the far end of the barn, which is more than can be said for the grey one everybody assumes is communal.
