Tuff Stuff square fence feeder 14 qts (Red)
A red 14-quart square fence feeder, roughly 13 litres, that hangs over a rail or stall front and lifts straight off to clean.
Details
The squared body is the useful detail. A round fence feeder touches the rail at one point and swings; a square one has a whole flat face against it and stays put. It also sits neatly into a corner or against a stall front, where a round feeder would stand out into the space and catch a shoulder every time something walks past. It takes 14 quarts, about 13 litres. That is a full ration for most horses, and it fills from a scoop without you needing to aim. There are no clips or fasteners; it hooks over the rail and its own weight does the rest, so there is nothing to lose, nothing to rust and nothing to undo with cold hands. Red is easy to spot from the far end of a run of pens, which matters when you are checking whether a feeder has been emptied without walking the whole line. Take it down every few days and knock the corners out. Square corners are the trade-off for the flat back, and they will hold caked feed if you never look at them. A rinse and a dry in the sun sorts it out.
