Feeding out in a paddock usually means a pan on the ground, and a pan on the ground means feed trodden into the dirt within minutes. Hanging it on the fence you are already standing at costs nothing and changes the whole picture. This feeder hooks over a rail, a panel or a gate and holds itself there under the weight of what is in it. Capacity is 14 quarts, roughly 13 litres, which covers a proper feed for a horse or a shared feed for a couple of smaller animals. The square body sits flat against the fence rather than rolling along it, so it stays where you hung it instead of sliding down to the low corner. Green blends into a fence line, which is a fair criticism if you are trying to find it. It is a good colour if you would rather the feeder not be the most obvious thing in the paddock, and it makes a clear pair with a second colour if you are running two feeds side by side.
