Rubber has one clear advantage over plastic in a tub this size, and it is worth the extra weight: it does not shatter. Frozen, kicked, dropped off a tailgate or driven over, a rubber tub deforms and comes back. In a pen where equipment gets treated badly that is the difference between one tub a year and one tub a decade. This is the square 21-quart size, about 20 L or 5.25 gallons. The square shape tucks into a corner or sits flat against a wall without the dead space a round tub leaves either side, and the mass of the material keeps it where you put it instead of sliding across a concrete floor. Rubber is heavier to carry and slower to dry than poly, so it works best kept in one place rather than hauled around the yard. Tip it to drain after washing and leave it somewhere with airflow. A rubber tub left face-down in a wet corner is the only reliable way to make one smell.
