Some jobs need a bucket that is wide rather than tall. Soaking a hoof, washing a bit, rinsing a set of brushes, mixing a beet pulp feed. All of them go better in something 28 cm across than in a narrow pail where you cannot get a hand flat to the bottom. That is the shape of this one: about 28 cm in diameter and 20 cm deep (11 by 8 inches), holding 8 quarts or roughly 7.6 L. It is moulded from recycled low-density polyethylene, which is flexible enough to sit against a leg or a wall without presenting a hard edge. Purple is a good colour to hold back for the jobs that are not feed. If the purple bucket is the wash bucket and everybody knows it, you never have the awkward conversation about which bucket the disinfectant was in. Empty it after use rather than leaving standing water in it; tipped on its side it dries in minutes.
