Small waterers get fouled fast, and mostly it is because birds stand on them. The flat top here is not a styling decision. There is nowhere comfortable to perch, and whatever does land on it does not end up in the water. Capacity is 1.4 quarts, about 1.3 L, which is a sensible size for a brooder box, a small coop or a grow-out pen where you would rather change water often than let a large reservoir stand. It is moulded plastic in the usual two parts: a reservoir that inverts into a base with a drinking ring around it. Fill the reservoir, seat the base, flip the whole thing, and it feeds the ring as the birds drink it down. Take it apart to clean rather than rinsing it assembled. The lip where the two pieces meet is where a film builds, and a brush gets it off in seconds once you can actually reach it.
