Water is the heaviest thing anyone carries in a poultry yard. Twenty-seven litres is roughly twenty-seven kilos, and hauling that by a handle across a muddy run twice a day is why people end up filling small drinkers more often than they meant to. This one rides on wheels with a telescopic handle that adjusts to the person pulling it. Capacity is 7.26 gallons, about 27 L. It fills through a 3 inch cap on the top rather than through the base, has an open-and-shut valve so it can be moved without emptying itself down your leg, and both the serving tray and the strainer lift out for cleaning. The strainer is the part people forget. Bedding and feed get scratched into any open tray, and a strainer that never comes out stops doing its job. Pull it, rinse it, put it back. When the weather turns, drain the reservoir right down rather than leaving a partial fill to freeze in it.
