Tuff Stuff open square scoop - blue
An open square scoop about 33 cm wide, with a flat leading edge that clears the last of the feed off a flat bin bottom.
Details
The reason to own a square scoop is corners. A round bowl leaves feed in the angle of a square bin and along the bottom seam of a bag. A square scoop with a flat front edge takes it all in one pass and you are not sweeping up behind yourself. It measures roughly 33 cm wide and 33 cm from grip to leading edge, 15 cm deep (13 by 13 by 6 inches), moulded in one piece from 100% recycled low-density polyethylene. The open top means it doubles as a general shovel for shavings, gravel or spilled grain, and there is no closed handle cavity to pack solid with feed. Blue is a sensible colour to keep for the main feed bin. A scoop does its best work when it lives in one place, so leave it in the bin it belongs to rather than carrying it between products. Knock it out rather than washing it unless something wet has been in it; a damp poly scoop put back into dry feed causes more trouble than dust does.
