Tuff Stuff muck bucket 70 qts - purple
A seventy-quart muck bucket moulded from recycled polyethylene, built to flex instead of split when it is dropped or driven over.
Details
Cold is what kills most plastic buckets. A rigid tub that survived all summer will shatter along a stress line at minus thirty, usually on a morning you are already behind. The recycled low-density polyethylene used here stays flexible in the cold, deforming and springing back rather than going brittle. Dimensions run about 53 by 41 cm (21 inches across, 16 deep), holding 70 quarts or roughly 66 litres. The walls are thick enough to hold their shape when the bucket is full, and the two side handles are moulded into the body rather than bolted on, so there is no rivet to work loose. Purple tends to end up as the personal bucket in a lot of barns, the one belonging to a particular horse, pen or person that is not the general muck tub. Whatever system you run, having one that is obviously different from the rest of the stack saves arguments. Hose it out and turn it over to drain rather than leaving water standing in the bottom. A block of ice in the base is what makes a full bucket impossible to lift.
