Tuff Stuff mini hook over feeder - red
A six-quart hook-over feeder in red that hangs on a rail or panel, keeping a single feed up off the ground in a small pen.
Details
Ground pans in a small pen last about a week before they are stepped in, tipped over or buried in bedding. Hanging the feed changes that. This one has a moulded lip that drops over a rail, panel or stall front and holds there under its own weight, with no clips or bolts to lose in the straw. Six quarts, roughly 5.7 L, is a sensible single-feed size for a goat, a calf, a couple of sheep or a horse on a small ration. Big enough that you are not topping it up partway through, small enough that stale feed does not sit in the bottom for days. Red is easy to pick out along a run of pens, and the feeder lifts straight off the rail when you want it gone. Take it down every few days, knock the crust out of the corners and let it dry before it goes back up. Feeders that never come off the rail are the ones that build up.
