The hook is the point. Most people dip with an old cup or a cut-off jug, then set it down somewhere and end up with molasses, oil or disinfectant on the shelf and on their gloves. This one hangs on the rim of the pail or drum it lives in, drips back into the product, and is right there next time. It's a deep-sided scoop roughly ten inches across and five deep — enough to lift a decent measure in one dip, with a shape that pours reasonably cleanly rather than running down the outside. Blue is a good colour to reserve for something specific. The single best habit with liquid scoops is one scoop per product: the scoop that goes in the disinfectant never goes in the molasses, the one for oil never touches medicated feed. Colour is how you make that rule stick without labels that peel off. It handles molasses, vegetable oil, liquid supplements, teat dip, disinfectant and wash concentrate. Rinse it after anything that sets up or goes rancid.
