Tuff Stuff horse treat ball - red
A red treat ball for stalled and confined horses — feed comes out as it rolls, which keeps a bored horse occupied.
Details
Red is the easiest colour to spot in a deep-bedded stall or out in a dry lot, which sounds trivial until you're hunting for the thing under a foot of shavings at feeding time. The ball is about ten inches across and works on the simplest principle there is: put part of the ration inside, and the horse has to move it to get anything out. That turns a few minutes of eating into an hour of activity, which is the whole point for a horse on box rest or shut in through a stretch of bad weather. It's worth remembering this is an enrichment tool, not a feeder. Load it from the ration the horse already gets rather than adding treats, or you'll undo a winter of careful feeding on an easy keeper. Introduce it supervised. Some horses will paw it, some will pick it up and throw it, and a few get possessive — none of which you want to discover in a shared pen. Give it a rinse periodically; feed fines and damp build up inside over a season.
