Tuff Stuff HD square basket fork - purple
A purple basket fork — closely set tines for fine bedding, in a colour nobody else in the barn is likely to own.
Details
If you already run a couple of forks, colour is how you keep them straight, and purple is the one least likely to already be hanging in the aisle. Plenty of people use it to mark the fork that never leaves the sick pen or the foaling stall — biosecurity on a small operation is mostly just not sharing tools. The basket pattern is for fine material. Tines sit close and curve up into a basket so sawdust, fine shavings and broken-down pellet bedding stay on the fork instead of running through. It's what you want when you're trying to pick manure out of bedding cleanly rather than replacing the whole stall. Roughly sixteen and a half inches across and ten deep, on a fork about fifty-four inches long — a bit more capacity than the square barn fork. Plastic tines don't rust and never need sharpening, but they don't pry. Keep it off frozen manure and gravel, hang it rather than resting it on the tines, and it'll do daily chores for years.
