Tuff Stuff HD square basket fork - green
A green basket fork with tightly spaced tines — the fork for pellet bedding, sawdust and anything a coarse fork loses.
Details
Anyone who has switched to pellet bedding and then tried to clean a stall with an old wide-tined fork knows why this exists. Fine bedding pours straight through a standard fork. A basket fork holds it, so you can lift a wet spot out whole instead of chasing it around the stall. At roughly sixteen and a half by ten inches on a fifty-four inch fork, it carries a decent load per lift without being awkward. The closer tine spacing means each lift is heavier than a coarse fork's, so you will notice the weight — that is the trade for actually getting the job done. Green marks it out easily if you run both fork styles side by side, and most working barns do: a coarse fork for straw, a basket for fine bedding. Treat it as a scoop rather than a pry bar. Closely set plastic tines are strong in lifting and weak in levering, and cold makes that worse. Frozen pack is a steel fork job. Hang it out of the weather and this one lasts.
