Tuff Stuff HD square barn fork (Blue)
A square-head barn fork about fifty-three inches long, for mucking stalls and pens where a basket fork is overkill.
Details
The square head is what separates this from a basket fork. Square tines sit with more space between them and present a flatter face, which suits mucking through straw, moving bulkier material, and getting under a pack without lifting half the clean bedding with it. It's the general-purpose barn fork. The head runs about fifteen and a half inches by eight, on a fork around fifty-three inches overall — a working length for an adult, and short enough to swing in a tie stall or a small pen without cracking your knuckles on the wall. Blue is the barn-standard colour, easy to pick out on a wall of tools and easy to keep track of. If you run more than one fork, colour is the cheapest way to stop the manure fork and the bedding fork trading places. One habit worth having with any plastic-tined fork in this climate: hang it up, and don't leave it outside tine-down under a load. Cold plastic is less forgiving than warm plastic, and levering a frozen pack is how tines get snapped.
