The shallow one. At about eight inches deep it's the tub you use where a deep tank is a hazard — calf pens, foals, small goats, lambs, anything that could get a leg over the edge and into trouble. It's also the easiest of the round tubs to tip and dump single-handed, which is why it gets picked for pens that need cleaning out daily. Fifteen gallons is enough water for a small pen or a couple of animals through a day in mild weather, and it doubles as a soaking tub, a footbath, a wash tub for tack, or a mixing tub for feed. Being poly, it flexes. That's what saves it in winter: ice expands, the sidewall gives, and in the morning you roll the tub over, put a boot on the side, and the slab lets go. A rigid container in the same spot would have split. It won't rust and it won't rot, and there's no seam or fitting to weep.
