This is the large flat back, five gallons of it, built to hang flush against a wall or a panel instead of swinging out on the hanger the way a round pail does. On a bucket this heavy that shape is not a nicety, it is the reason the hanger stays in the wall. The other thing worth noting is the proportion. At about fifteen inches across and eleven deep, it is wide for its capacity rather than tall and narrow. That makes it stable on the ground, easy to reach into with a brush, and comfortable for an animal to drink out of without banging its cheeks on the sides. Sky blue is easy on the eye and easy to tell apart from the dark pails in a stack. In a barn where a few different people do chores, running one colour for water and another for feed removes a whole category of small mistakes. Rinse it out regularly and turn it over when it is empty.
