Tuff Stuff Flat Back Bucket 8 qts (Red)
Red eight-quart flat back bucket, a two-gallon hanging bucket for water or grain in a stall, pen or corral.
Details
Flat backs hang better than round pails and that is the entire argument. A flat side against the wall means no swing, no roll and no gap behind the bucket for a halter clip or a hoof to get into. Two gallons is the amount that suits a stall. It is enough water to get an animal through the night without being so heavy that carrying two across the yard in the dark is a chore. The wide top is a real advantage at cleaning time, because you can reach the bottom with a brush rather than working through a narrow neck. Red holds its own against snow, straw and mud, which is why it is the colour you see most often hung on a corral panel. One practical note for winter: a flat back hung in an unheated barn will still freeze, so if you are not running a heated bucket, get in the habit of dumping the ice before you refill rather than topping up around it.
