Two gallons in a bucket built to hang. The flat side is the difference. It sits against a wall or a panel instead of turning on the hanger, so an animal that leans on it or rubs on it does not knock it loose or find a gap behind it. Eight quarts is enough water for a stall overnight and enough room for a grain feed, and the wide mouth means you can get a hand and a scrub brush in there without contortions. Buckets that are hard to clean do not get cleaned. Pink is the anti-theft colour in a boarding barn, and that is only half a joke. Buckets migrate. If yours is a colour nobody else has, it comes back. It also lets a barn helper know which bucket goes in which stall without a label, and it is bright enough to spot from the door when you are checking whether the water is still full.
