This is the scoop that stays in the feed room. Closed sides mean a full load makes it to the pan intact, and the square face means you can scrape a bin down to the bottom instead of tipping the whole barrel to get the last of it. Plastic construction is easy on feed and easy on you. It will not rust in a mineral bin, it does not pull the heat out of your hand on a January morning, and it comes clean with water rather than needing to be scrubbed. Colour is the reason to buy more than one. If you are running a grain, a pellet and a supplement, three different coloured scoops mean nobody has to think about which one goes in which bin, and mixing feeds stops being a worry. Purple is not a colour that turns up much around a farm yard, which is exactly what makes it useful for the bin you do not want confused with the others.
