Tuff Stuff enclosed poultry drinker gallon base (Yellow)

Details

This is the base half of a standard gravity poultry drinker. It threads onto a gallon jar, and once inverted the water level in the trough holds steady until the birds drink it down and more releases. Being plastic, it rinses out in a pail of warm water, comes apart without tools and will not rust where damp bedding sits against it. That is not a small thing in a coop, where a metal fount left sitting on wet litter starts going orange inside a season. Yellow is worth choosing on purpose. In a dark coop, or a run half covered in snow, it reads clearly from a distance, so you can tell from the yard whether the drinker is still standing where you left it or a bird has tipped it into the bedding. Set it up level, off the floor if you can, and check it twice a day once the cold sets in.
