This is the base half of a jar-style poultry feeder. It threads onto a jug, and once the whole thing is flipped over, feed runs down into the outer tray and keeps refilling itself as the birds eat. Rated at roughly 2 lb of feed with a matching jug. Small feeders like this are what you actually want for chicks in a brooder, a handful of bantams, a grow-out pen, or a broody hen shut in on her own. A big hanging feeder in a small space just gets stood in and fouled, while a low base at the right height stays cleaner and lets you see at a glance how much feed has gone down since morning. It's sold as the base only, so the jug is a separate item, and a cracked jug doesn't cost you the whole feeder.
