Vitamin E and selenium in one crumble, fed together. Whether a horse needs it depends on its forage and the rest of its ration; your veterinarian or a nutritionist can tell you, and a blood test can confirm it. Feed daily at the label rate, mixed into feed the horse cleans up. Now the serious part. Selenium is toxic in excess, and it is easy to overdo by stacking products: a fortified commercial feed, a mineral, a mineral tub and this supplement all carry selenium. Add up the total from everything the horse is getting before you feed it, and if you cannot do that arithmetic confidently, ask your veterinarian or a nutritionist. Selenium is the one to respect. Start with the 2.5 kg pail. Keep it sealed and dry, and keep the scoop honest — a heaped scoop is not a level one.
