CORRAL wire connecting clamp (10/bag)
A galvanized clamp for cross-connecting fence wires up to 2.5 mm, making a mechanical and electrical join without twisting.
Details
A twisted join in fence wire is a resistance waiting to happen. Two galvanized wires wound around each other make good contact on the day, then the zinc wears at the crossing point, moisture gets in, and a year later the join carries a fraction of what it did. These clamps take wire up to 2.5 mm and hold two or more conductors against each other under a bolted clamp face, which keeps the contact area under constant pressure instead of relying on the springiness of a twist. Galvanized throughout, ten to a bag. The main use is cross-connecting the live wires of a multi-strand fence so every strand is fed rather than only the one the energiser lead lands on. Do it at the start of each paddock and at intervals along a long run, and you also get redundancy: one broken strand no longer takes the strands below it out of the circuit. Nip them up firmly but stop when the wire starts to deform. A clamp tightened until it bites into a galvanized wire has cut the zinc and made the exact corrosion point you were trying to avoid.
