Anywhere a fence runs along a public road, a trail, a right of way or the front of a yard, it needs marking. It is not only a regulatory question. A sign is also what stops the visitor who has never met an electric fence from grabbing the wire to steady themselves climbing over. These are moulded from rigid plastic at 200 x 120 mm and printed on both faces, so the message reads from inside the fence as well as from the road. Ten to a pack. Space them so one is always in view from either direction along a public boundary, and put one at every gate and every point where a path or trail meets the line. Corners and the ends of a run are the places people approach a fence, so those matter more than the middle of a long side. Hang them on the conductor itself rather than on the post where you can, so a sign stays with the fence if the layout changes, and check them each spring. A sign that has faded to blank is worse than no sign, because you have stopped looking at it.
