CORRAL tape to tape connector 40mm
An 80 cm connecting lead with a fitting at each end, carrying current between two poly tape lines up to 40 mm wide.
Details
Two live tape lines on the same fence do not share current just because they are on the same posts. If only one is fed from the energiser, the other reads whatever it picks up, which is usually not much, and stock work out which strand is worth avoiding. This connector is a lead about 80 cm long with a fitting at each end sized for tape up to 40 mm. It makes both the mechanical grip on the tape and the electrical join, so current crosses between strands through a proper clamped contact rather than a twist of wire pushed under the tape. Run one at the start of each paddock and again every few hundred metres on a long fence. Feeding a multi-strand line at intervals rather than only at the energiser end keeps the voltage even and gives you a second path if one strand breaks. Leave a little slack in the lead. A connector pulled taut between two tapes that move independently in wind will work its grip loose over a season.
