Details
Netting fails at the ends. The run itself stands up well enough, but the first and last posts take the whole tension of fifty metres of net and the built-in plastic posts were never meant to carry it, so the corners lean in and the bottom strand lifts off the ground. This post is 14 mm galvanized round steel inside a 20 mm plastic tube, 120 cm overall with a 25 cm spike tapered at the tip so it drives without a pilot hole. The plastic jacket is what makes it usable with electrified netting, since it keeps the steel core out of the circuit and stops the post shorting the net to ground. Corral warrants the plastic against UV damage for three years. Use one at each end of a run and one at every corner, driven so the net sits plumb and the bottom strand keeps contact with the ground. Lean the post very slightly back against the pull before you drive it and it will straighten as the net comes up to tension. It works with non-electrified net as well, and the working height suits lamb net where a full-length post is more than the job needs.
